WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PRIVATE DENTAL CARE?

The Village Dental Practice offers private dental care because:

  • It allows us enough time to provide a quality experience for our patients.
  • It provides greater choice for our patients. Treatment available on the NHS can be limited and does not include cosmetic treatment that patients frequently request, such as white fillings, tooth whitening etc.
  • Both the dentist and the dental team providing items produced in the laboratory can spend more time on each individual, consequently a better cosmetic outcome can be achieved that has a more natural look
  • We can offer a more personal style of service with a strong emphasis on prevention tailored to the needs of each individual.
  • We are able to invest in our practice team, our equipment and our surroundings to further improve our service to you.
  • To enable us to provide this level of care our principal dentists restrict NHS treatments to children.

What are the costs of private dental care?

The Village Dental Practice offers private dental care because:

  • Our receptionists can provide you with a list of fees for the most commonly required or requested items of treatment.
  • After an examination, a written treatment plan and estimate are provided for anything more than the simplest course of treatment.
  • Our patients are given the option of spreading the cost of their private care by joining Denplan which is a budgeting scheme operated on a monthly direct debit basis.
  • Our staff will be happy to help to give you further information on Denplan or any other aspect of the cost or payment of private fees.

What information will I be given about my treatment?

Following full examination, the dentists will have time to discuss any matters arising. We have intra oral cameras, digital x-rays and a wide package of patient education software and literature to fully explain any treatments we may suggest or to help with preventative advice. We can then formulate a mutually agreed treatment plan. For all but the most straightforward of treatments, this will be given to you in writing with an estimate of the costs involved.

Are there any quality assurance systems in the practice?

The Village Dental Practice offers private dental care because:

  • We have regular practice meetings where dentists and staff meet for training and to monitor and improve the service we provide.
  • We also undergo an intensive annual practice inspection by Denplan. This covers all aspects of administrative and health and safety requirements together with more clinically related issues such as cross infection control, management of collapse etc.
  • We are proud to be Denplan Excel accredited. This means that we have achieved the highest level of compliance in all areas covered.

Are there any quality assurance systems in the practice?

The practice is registered with the ‘Care Quality Commission’ following their inspection, the practice was found to be compliant in all aspects of patient care. A copy of their report is in the waiting room.
