For those of our patients who chose to have peace of mind that budgeting for their private care offers, we recommend the Denplan Scheme for funding private dentistry by regular low cost monthly payments. The Village Dental Practice have emergency appointments set aside during normal working hours every day. Please try to call before 10.30am and every effort will be made to see you the same day.
Outside normal working hours if you have a genuine emergency (acute pain, trauma, swelling or bleeding) please telephone the practice. An answerphone message will give you details of our emergency service arrangements.
The reception, waiting room and one of our surgeries are situated on the ground floor and are therefore accessible to those patients who are unable to manage the stairs. If your usual dentist works in an upstairs surgery but you feel it would be more convenient to been seen downstairs, please do not hesitate to speak to one of our receptionists who can arrange this for you.
If you change your address or telephone numbers, please advise us as soon as possible. We do send our patients a confirmation of their check-up appointment a week or so before they are due. We try to confirm all longer appointments by telephone or post the day before so mobile and work numbers are very helpful. Accurate records are essential for this service to operate efficiently.
The Village Dental Practice would like to reassure you that all necessary precautions are taken to protect our patients and staff from transmission of infectious diseases. We follow stringent guidelines on sterilisation of instruments in our separate decontamination room. We use disposable items wherever possible.
All our team undergo regular update training in all aspects of dentistry, including cross infection control, first aid including CPR and radiology, the practice has an Automatic Defibrillator for cases of emergency.
As part of our commitment to ensuring patient safety, it is essential that we know your medical history before commencement of any treatment. We will ask you to fill in or update a confidential questionnaire to keep us informed of medical issues that may be of relevance to your dental care. We need to know any medication you take. A repeat prescription or list is often useful.
We will normally give you an estimate for the cost of your treatment after your initial consultation. We request that 50% of private fees are payable at the beginning of a course of treatment. Other arrangements can be made with our receptionist. Payment may be made by cash – cheque – supported by a guarantee card, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Visa Debit, JCB, Solo, Electron, Visa CPC, EDC/Maestro, Debit Mastercard. Denplan members do not have any clinical fees to pay other than for laboratory work and some pharmaceuticals.
Whilst always hoping to exceed expectations we appreciate this is not always possible. If you have any reason for complaint then please tell us. The practice has a formal complaints procedure. Details are available on our website or at reception. We hope then to provide a satisfactory and amicable solution.
